Brand identity and web platform made in support of finding a definitive cure for the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex.

‘Thanks to the volunteers in these and other studies, each new day brings us one step closer to finding improved treatments for TSC.’

The identity and platform we developed for “Învingem Sindromul Bourneville” (“Overcoming Bourneville Syndrome”) reflect a commitment to raising awareness about tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) while providing a comprehensive resource for individuals and families impacted by the condition. Our objective was to design an accessible and emotionally resonant platform that facilitates access to vital information and promotes the association’s vision of fostering research, education, and support networks for those affected by TSC.

At the heart of this project was a close collaboration with the family of Mihăiță, a young boy navigating the challenges of a severe form of TSC. Their experiences shaped the foundation of our work, inspiring a logo design that merges a side profile of a child with a dandelion dispersing its seeds—a symbol of hope, resilience, and the spread of knowledge. The visual identity incorporates a dark purple background with white as the primary color, complemented by orange, yellow, green, and blue accents to convey faith, perseverance, and optimism.

The creative process included extensive research, iterative design testing, and the development of a user-friendly platform, tscromania.ro. This website serves as a hub for information about TSC, offering the latest research, resources for medical professionals, and opportunities for public support through donations and sponsorships. The cheerful yet professional tone of the platform reflects the association’s mission while ensuring that vital information is easy to access. A significant challenge was organizing the vast amount of data in a way that felt intuitive and inviting, a task achieved through thoughtful structuring and continuous feedback from stakeholders.

While the project is ongoing, the platform and identity have already been warmly received by the association and its community. Future plans include expanding public awareness and organizing medical conferences to further TSC research and understanding. This endeavor was profoundly inspiring, shedding light on the importance of familial support and the urgent need for advancements in treatment and care for TSC. Working on this project reaffirmed the power of design and storytelling in driving meaningful change.
